The hole world is opened up, and you can choose where you want to place the route,
in this case we choose Denmark
Picture no. 3.

Start by zooming the area, Right click on Demark and choose ’Zoom Region’
Picture no. 4.

This is the first zoom, do it one more time on Denmark
Picture no. 5

Now you can only choose "Zoom Window In", do the zoom one more time.
Picture no. 6.

When you have reached the zoom level you want, you should choose where place your route.
This is done from ‘file’ and ‘New Route’
Picture no. 7

The dialog window, "Create New Route" shows up, here you should write the name on your route "MIN RUTE", and the directory name "DK_VEST"
Then select the speed, and whether it should be in Miles/Km pr hour.
You can also add a description by clicking ‘Edit Description’. Then click ‘OK’.
Picture no. 8.

Here is name and the place, your route is saved.
Picture no. 9.

In "file" you choose "Select Route".
Picture no. 10.

Type in the route name, in this case "DK_VEST", click OK.
Picture no. 11.

From "File" you choose "New Quad-Tree".
Picture no. 12.

Use the ’mouse’ to create a square on the place where you want to place your route.
In "Edit" you choose "Selection.
Picture no. 13.
", Right click in the square and choose "Add All Selection Tiles",
Picture no. 14.

Next, in "Edit" choose "Minimize Quad-Tree".
Picture no. 15.

you are minimizing the area, accept the question.
Picture no. 16.

Right click on the square and choose "Toggle Populated State",
And a lot of blue X will show up in the selected area.
Picture no. 17.

From "Edit" you choose "Generate Flagged Tiles".
This will take some time, please be patient, you must allow this process to finish,
Otherwise you might have to start all over again.
Picture no. 18.

Next, right click on the little square where you want your route to start at, and select
"Route Editor Start Tiles".
Picture no. 19.

The Start-tile has now been updated, click OK, and in ’file’ choose exit.
Start Route Editor again and find your route.
Picture no. 20.

We are now ready to create the route, from this window find ’MIN RUTE’.
Picture no. 21.

Now were inside the "Editor" from where we are creating our route.
From "Window" choose "Show all", this will show all the windows we need during our work.
Picture no. 22.

In this window choose ‘Edit and Insert’, here are placed those ‘Terra Textures’, which are standard.
Picture no. 23.

This is the folder that holds the "terra Textures" you can choose, if you need more, you must copy them from the other route’s, into your route’s ‘Terrtex’.
You can select a max. of 9 textures.
Picture no. 23.

Here are descriptions of the buttons:
Picture no. 24.

If you click ’more’ you can select the standard objects to be placed on your route.
If you need more they have to be installed into your route, please read the description that some’s with the objects you wants to install on your route.
Picture no. 25.

The first piece of track.
Picture no. 26.

The first signal is in place.
NB.. In the marked window, here you can see which objects you have selected, and the
MOST IMPORTANT of all, how many objects there is on this "Tile". I would recommend you keep this number under 1000, due to limitations in MSTS.
This would help keeping the frame-rate up.
Picture no. 26.

The station is created, use button 1 and 2 to decide how big the platform should be.
Picture no. 27.

By right clicking this window should appear, here you gives the station a name and chooses whether the platform should be on the right or left side on the track,
and the time a train should stop at the platform to pickup passengers.
You can do the same on ‘Sidings’
Picture no. 28.

The road is placed in a similar way, and there are a lot of different types.
Picture no. 29.

Now we want to place some ’Terra Textures’ when you click on the marked button, and then on a field, you will get a red marked square.
Picture no. 30.

You choose the texture to place, by selecting the number in "Textures selection", you can select the size of the area, by clicking the square’s next to the selected one.
Picture no. 31.

And now we want to have a little mountain,
Right click some where on the area and select the area size.
Picture no. 32.

Right click in the red square and "Set Height".
Picture no. 33.

Now enter the height in the box, please remember to add 6 zero’s after the number
Picture no. 34.

Here we have out mountain, but the tracks has been covered,
find them and select them and press Y on your keyboard.
Picture no. 35.

And we get a valley through the mountain.
Picture no. 36.

From "more" you pick ( Forrest – JP1Tree1 ), Right click in the red square and this box will appear
Select "Forrest" and type the number of tree’s you want.
Picture no. 37.

Another method to choose the area, you want to raise or lower is to click with mouse and drag until you have a square of size you want, then right click and set "height" and type in the height you want, in this case we want to create a mountain lake.
Picture no. 38.

When the area has been lowered, you right click and "Toggle Water",
next right click and "Set tile water height".
In the windows that appears, the water should be set in all 4 corners,
and the height of the water too.
Picture no. 39.

Now we got a little mountain lake, where we can see the water.
Picture no. 40.

Finally a picture of my own project "Vestbanen".
The Blue/white line are where the cars are driving in the route, and is placed with ‘Carspawn’.
Please remember that, the line is ‘running’ in the opposite direction as when the route is played.
Hopefully you should be able to use this tutorial to create your own route.
I hope to drive on YOUR route some day.
